The Chancellor presented his third full Budget since the coalition Government took power on Wednesday, 21st March.

Billed as ‘the budget for working people’ with a promise to ‘back business’, Mr Osborne highlighted the Government’s commitment to three specific areas: a stable economy, a fairer, more efficient and simpler tax system and reforms to support growth.

The RAC's annual Cost of Motoring index has revealed the average cost of keeping a car on the road to be a staggering £6,689 per annum, a rise of 14% (£819) on last year. That's an average of £128.64 per week and 55.74 pence per mile, but however you dress it up it is surely a hefty blow to Britain's already cash-strapped motorists.

A very powerful voice in the world of UK business and finance, the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) sets interest rates. In setting an interest rate, the MPC judges that the rate will enable the UK’s inflation target to be met.
